The cruise on Central was a bust. Central was narrowed to one lane and moved very slow. I gave up and went the back way to Park Central mall. Wathed the cars go by single file until the cops kicked us out. Not near as fun as previous years. Dont think Ill be doing that again.

What time was it when the cops told you to leave Park Central?

8:00 p.m. was the scheduled end of that event. Earlier than the past events. Hmmm?

btw my comment above has absolutely nothing to do at striking out at you. My comment leans towards the money end of something that should be free. I betcha 8 p.m. hits and the money ($10 per ride) starts to dwindle down. No money and it's time to pack it in (knowing the permits to do this event expires at 8). I gave up going when GREED reared her ugly head!

This was the first time i even went to the Mall parking lot. I went late so didnt have to pay. Id rather park at a different location like we started at but the cars were sparse, due to the reschedule. And the one lane cruising ruined it all. I gave up on the cruise part.

Phoenix finest has been pulling the one lane routine for the last 3 or 4 events and with good reason. There is such a "Mob" along the sidewalk adjacent to Park Central Mall that if one of the cars lost control it wouldn't be a pretty picture. Back around 98 or 99 when the Central Cruise was juiced up again by Billie-Jo, a member of Arizona Street Outlaws, it was fun! It was worth the time to go cruising again like it was in the 60's and 70's. Participants actually "Cruised" instead of crowding a sidewalk! Then Billie-Jo dropped it back around 02 or 03 and it was picked up again with a new hostess looking for some ka-ching. With me, it all stopped being "fun", when I noticed someone was personally getting rich off this and the lite-rail skinny things down. That and the fact my Mustang needs to keep moving. LOL!
