well heres the 74 vert as i got it (except the kid i picked it up from had done some "body-work" to it in the form of about a gallon of bondo).


and heres some progress shots (after the bondo & dents were removed...amazing what a set of body hammers can do and much cheaper than that much bondo lol)

So not sure if anyones interested or not but thought Id post some updated pics of "Betty" lol. Finally got the paint done and moving to the interior now then lowering, installing the rebuilt engine, then the new whitewall tires and hopefully done...but it never seems to work like that, Ive already had the custom interior kit i ordered deleted from my order 3 times now from 2 different suppliers (how can a "custom" interior kit that they have to build be out of stock???).

But anyway here she is in PPG Dodge Viper red base with Ford Performance white and a GALLON of clear on it (the base color only needed 2 quarts to put 2-3 coats on so you have an idea). I needed to visualize what it will look like with the WW tires and ims done so i did 2 of them and painted one tire (it was a junk tire anyway)

oh by the way i dont feel like rebuilding this engine myself so if anyone has had good experience with a vw engine guy email me please.

So i always felt vws should have had a center console so i made one out of fiberglass and some leftover chrome cowl trim.

what do you think good/no good?

Console looks good. You could mount some gauges in there or a radio if you had an early car you didnt want to cut up. If you have a mold youcould make more and sell them for sure.

thx guys, and yea Ryan I actually do have the mold for it, i think maybe ill check out some vw forumns and see if there would be a demand for it but honestly i dont even know what a fair price would be to sell it for? And theres always the fact that vw folks are actually kinda picky about stuff being all stock (which is funny cause i dont think ive ever seen in person a completly restored vw that was "all" stock lol)
