Hi everybody, just got a 66 chevy c10, has a 230cu in 6cyl. I'm getting a dead ground in the ignition, when i turn the key on, and try to start, nothing happens but the alt gage goes to max discharge. i've replaced the ignition switch, and it tried to start once, then ground. had the starter checked at Oreilly's, and did the forum check of jumping the solinoid, starter checks good, but could be bad solinoid. i think former owner did some shacky wiring, and wandering if anybody has a good copy of the starter circuit wiring diagram ? it has electronic ignition ( distrbutor ) but not HEI, should the "R" terminal from the starter still be connected to the coil +. it's not at the moment, but a clear shielded wire from the firewall is connected to the coil, and gives 12vdc. anyhelp would be appreciated Jerry

By not starting do you mean its not cranking over or do you mean no spark? Bigguy

Hey, carter65, sorry i didn't get back with you, been awhile since i've been home. It was a bad ignition switch and horn relay, she's on the road as of this week, but got a lot of work to do still, thanks for the reply. JB (saudihog)
